The eye doctors at Delaware Vision Care provide top-notch eye care services to the Delaware, Ohio, area. We are able to do this by utilizing state of the art technologies. Here are some of the important machines that help us care for your eyes in the best manner possible:
Optical Coherence Tomographer (OCT)
Our high-definition Optical Coherence Tomographer (OCT) does the same thing for your eyes that an MRI does for the body. It allows our eye doctors to see the layers of your retina in 3D, in order to better detect and treat pathologies related to glaucoma, macular degeneration, diabetes, hypertension and injuries. Essentially, it takes the guesswork out of treating these sight-threatening conditions.
We will take a computerized measurement of your prescription, which is especially important in helping our optometrists determine an eyeglass prescription for a very young child or for someone who has difficulty understanding or answering our questions verbally.
Digital Retinal Camera
With the retinal camera, our doctors can take a photograph of your retina (the back of your eye). This enables us to see the arterioles and veins in the back of your eye, and to detect changes in the vessels, such as arteriosclerosis, that may put you at risk for heart attacks and strokes. Our optometrists can also see conditions such as macular degeneration and optic nerve diseases with these images. In addition, we use these images as references to track changes in your retina from year to year.
